The Institute of Noetic Sciences is an excellent resource on this subject! Additionally, there are many other resources from which to draw. The article in the thread What is Remote Viewing? is a great place to start.

For IONS Shift in Action members, there is an outstanding teleseminar with Stephan Schwartz titled A Modern Mental Martial Art. "Stephan [Schwartz] is one of the world's experts on the practical applications of remote viewing and other aspects of extraordinary human functioning. For almost twenty years he was the research director and chairman of the Mobius Society. The laboratory carried out research into remote viewing, creativity, therapeutic intent, and other areas of human performance." -SIA

"Remote viewing is a mental faculty that allows a perceiver (a "viewer") to describe or give details about a target that is inaccessible to normal senses due to distance, time, or shielding. For example, a viewer might be asked to describe a location on the other side of the world, which he or she has never visited; or a viewer might describe an event that happened long ago; or describe an object sealed in a container or locked in a room; or perhaps even describe a person or an activity; all without being told anything about the target -- not even its name or designation." -IRVA

One time, when I brought our smaller dog Misha home from the vet, the bigger (alpha) dog Daisy went nuts, either by smelling that someone had been messing with Misha, or by picking up some kind of telepathic communication from her... maybe both. Daisy was reacting in a very protective way, like she herself had been violated.

Then there is the fascinating routine they have competing over the favorite resting spots in the house. Even though Daisy is definitely the alpha dog - Misha has absolutely no delusions here - Daisy never directly attempts to make Misha move.

Sometimes though, she will come sit beside me and just stare at Misha laying on her (Daisy's) cushion. Somehow, I sense that something is going on with Daisy, and so I pay attention to her, and talk to her, and then realize that she won't take her eyes off Misha. So, I call Misha over to me, and the second that Misha is up from the cushion, Daisy goes directly to it and takes her place back. Daisy has me do the dirty work for her.

Other times, Daisy just waits patiently for Misha to get up, and as soon as she does, Daisy takes the spot.

Daisy and Misha also understand each other's bark. For example, Daisy knows that Misha is just being a bit of a nuisance barking at walkers and joggers going past the front of the house, and refuses to take part in the defensive (or in this case offensive) procedure. Other times, Misha is barking at a rabbit, cat, or opposum, and Daisy does not hesitate to race to where Misha is and join in. I guess this makes sense, as even the humans in the house can tell the difference in some of the dogs' barking. ]]> <![CDATA[What is Community?]]> http://www.noetictulsa.com//forums/thread.php?topic=25 2006-04-18T14:49:16-05:00"What is Community?" is using the word community not in terms of a physical group or location, but as an experience. tulsaIONS embraces the experience of community as one of a sense of connectedness. ]]> <![CDATA[Animal friends]]> http://www.noetictulsa.com//forums/thread.php?topic=42 2006-04-18T13:01:03-05:00

I have two cats. Their behavior is interesting to me. I looked up the meanings of certain cat behavior a year ago or so. When a cat is looking at you and slowly closes and then opens her eyes, that means she likes you. It's the equivalent of a kiss. A more obvious one is if their tail is swishing, they are irritated. It's the opposite with dogs of course. When they wag their tails, they're happy.]]> <![CDATA[Who Should Be At An Integral Health Forum?]]> http://www.noetictulsa.com//forums/thread.php?topic=38 2006-04-04T21:04:08-05:00Integral Health Forum?]]> <![CDATA[What is an Integral Health/ Whole Living Forum?]]> http://www.noetictulsa.com//forums/thread.php?topic=36 2006-04-04T21:01:01-05:00Integral Health Forum there should be representatives from the complimentary health care fields as well as from the allopathic health care field. That is the only way for it to truly be integral. More focus should be on the complimentary side though. Speakers, workshops/breakout sessions, vendors/practitioners in booths, etc. should be available.

What does Whole Living mean? Hint: Think about the word holistic.

Whole living means holistic living! A Whole Living Forum should have a speaker(s), vendors with booths, breakout sessions, and Q and A opportunities also. People could find information and resources on living a more globally conscious life, integrated in mind, body, and spirit. Issues of cultivating a worldview of sustainability, of environmental sensitivity and responsibility, and complimentary health care would be explored.

Someone from the Institute of Noetic Sciences should be invited to talk about their work in Integral Health and Healing, for either type of event, and/or some other areas of research.

An event like this should be at least a day-long event, and possibly a day and a half. ]]> <![CDATA[Formatting Options]]> http://www.noetictulsa.com//forums/thread.php?topic=31 2006-03-02T14:57:57-06:00
