Here, you will find Tulsa's noetic community, dedicated to cultivating a collective vision of wholeness, well-being, and global sensibility. The noetic community recognizes conscious awareness and focused intention as the catalyst for manifesting individual, social, and global transformation.
At noeticTulsa.com, you will find an on-line resource of holistic health practitioners, spiritual and metaphysical teachers, artists, healers, and human potential organizations serving the Tulsa area. In addition to the on-line directory, noeticTulsa.com provides an on-line events listing of educational, experiential, and fellowship opportunities offered by the Tulsa area’s noetic community. Registered users have the opportunity to manage their own directory listing(s) and event postings, images and links.

- Question: Can I change my user name and/or password at any time?
- Answer:
- You must use the same user name and password when logging in for the first time, after clicking on your email activation link, as you entered on the registration screen.
- You may change your user name and/or password only after you have logged in for the first time.

- Question: What are all those buttons/options at the top of the screen?
- Answer:
- The Search field, list, and button on the topmost line are for searching the site for something in particular. The list, which is set to the default of Users allows you to choose the category in which you want to search. The Search box allows you to enter text to help narrow down your search. Then, click on the Search button to initiate your search.
- The Go... button in the center of the screen, just underneath the Search options, will take you directly to a specific location on the site. By clicking on the blue arrows, you will see a list of options from which you can choose. Upon clicking on an option from the list, you will be taken that location.
- The +View Options on the right side of the screen, directly under the Log In/Log Out, will give you some options regarding how you want the site to appear. If you click on +View Options, you will have the option to minimize the logo. In the future, you will also be able to select alternative style sheet(s) (color scheme) for the site.

Tutorial
Tutorial - General Instruction
1. Register and Log In

Click on Log In/Register in the upper right corner of the screen. This will take you to the Log In/Register screen.
-
If you have not registered yet, click where instructed. You will be taken to the Registration screen. Enter the requested information, and click Submit.
-
Upon submitting your registration, an email activation link will be sent to the email address that you entered. You should receive this email within a few seconds to a few minutes.
-
Click on the activation link in the email, and you will be taken to the noeticTulsa.com Log In screen.
-
Log In with the username and password that you entered on the registration screen.
-
Upon logging in, you should find yourself on your personal profile page.

2. Create your Personal Profile

From your personal Profile page, click Edit on the left of the screen directly under the command bar. You should now be in edit mode.
-
To select an image from the noeticTulsa.com library, click Select Image From Site Library.
-
Click to select the image that you want to identify you when you post comments on articles and/or forums. (On your event postings, you will have the opportunity to choose your image at the time you post your event.)
-
If you have an image on another site that you want to use in your personal profile, you may enter the path to that image instead of selecting from the library.
-
If you have your own image that you want to use that has not been uploaded to the website library, you can skip this step and come back to it after your images have been uploaded. To find out more about getting your own images into the website library, see #8. Use Your Own Images in this tutorial.

If you want to receive email messages from the website, click Receive Email.
-
Select the proper time zone.
-
Enter the time zone designation as you want it to appear on your postings. (While this is not mandatory, a time zone designation will appear on your postings, and CST is less confusing than GMT-6.)

Enter your personal profile information. This space is yours to format as you wish. (You may want to refer to the Formatting Options section of the Tutorial.)

Click on Submit to save your personal profile. You may come back any time and change your personal profile.

3. Request Additional Permissions

When you are not in Edit mode, click Request Additional Permissions from the bottom of your personal profile page.
-
You will find yourself on the Request Additional Permissions page. Enter your contact information, and a brief explanation of your reason for the request. (You may want to explain that you are a service provider and therefore want to be listed in the directory; or, you may be a community group that holds monthly meetings that you would like to post in Events.) This is an important oversight feature which helps tulsaIONS perform some level of quality-control.

Click Submit to initiate an email notification of your request to the site administrator.
-
Once the site administrator verifies your request, you will receive email confirmation from info@noetictulsa.com that your permission(s) have been granted. (This process could take some time, especially if the administrator has to verify your contact information.)

Once you receive your email confirmation, you will be able to exercise your new permissions.

4. Add yourself to Directory Listing(s)

First, see #3. Request Additional Permissions.

After you Log In, you can select Add Me to the Directory from the bottom of your profile page while you are not in Edit mode. Or, you can go to the Directory, from the command bar of the home page, where you will see instructions for adding yourself to the Directory.

From the Directory page, click on the Category in which you want your name to appear. If you want to be in a sub-category listing, click again until you find the sub-category that your want.
-
You will now be “in” that category. Click Add Me to add yourself to the category.
-
You may repeat this process for each category/sub-category in which you want your name to appear.

5. Post Your Events

First, see #3. Request Additional Permissions

After you Log In, go to Events. Click on Add Event on the right side of the command bar.
-
Enter the Title of your event.
-
Enter a brief summary of the event. This summary is what will show on the Events screen.
-
Enter the details of the event. It is advisable to copy the summary into the detail section, before you add the details.
-
Enter the number, or path, of the image that you want to appear on the left of your event on the Events page. This may be your logo, or other image from the image library. (To find the image number, click on the Go button at the top of the page, above the noeticTulsa.com logo. Next, click on Images from the list. You will now see the images to which you have access. The image number can be found under each image, preceded by Pic #:.)

Enter the Event Date and Time for your event. The date is in the format yyyy-mm-dd. The time must be in military time in the format hh:mm. Example: Your event is on June 8, 2006, at 2:30 in the afternoon. Enter 2006-06-08 14:30. There should be a space between the date and time.

Click Submit.

6. Participate in Forums

After you Log In, go to Forums. Click on the forum that you want to visit. You will see the threads that have been started for that forum.

To add on to an existing thread, click on that thread.

Click Reply to go to the end of the page.

Enter your thread contribution, and click Post.

To start a new thread, click Add Thread.
-
Enter the Subject title of the thread that you are adding (max 60 characters).
-
Enter your thread contribution in the Thread Text box.
-
Click on Create to add your thread to the forum.

7. Comment on Articles

From Home, select the Article on which you want to comment.

Scroll down to the end of the article. Click on +Comment. You will see any comments previously posted.

Enter your comments.

Click Post.

To exit this comment section, click on -Comment.

8. Use Your Own Images
-
An image may be used as an avatar on your personal profile page. This would be the image that identifies you on Forum and Article comment postings.
-
For Event postings, you may select the image that you want to identify your event. It may be your personal profile image, but does not have to be - it will be displayed as a square image, however.
-
You may want to use additional images within the text of your personal Profile page, or on your Event detail. These images do not need to be square.
-
Images that you want to use on your personal Profile or postings (Forum, Events, Article comments) will be formatted to a square. Please keep this in mind when choosing your images.

All images must be in JPG format.
-
Email your images to the site administrator at info@noetictulsa.com, with a brief explanation of how you are intending to use them.

The site administrator will notify you when your image(s) have been uploaded to the site library.
-
Once your images have been uploaded to the site library, you will be able to access the image via your personal Profile page, or by image number. (To find the image number, click on the Go button at the top of the page, above the noeticTulsa.com logo. Next, click on Images from the list. You will now see the images to which you have access. Formatting Options
1. Using Formatting Options
To use a formatting option, you “turn it on” before the text that you want to format, AND you must “turn it off” after the text that you want formatted. The option is “turned off” by preceding it with a “/”. See below.
2. How to Bold

Bold - Enter [b] before the text that you want to bold, AND enter [/b] after the text that you want to bold. Example: “...you do [b]NOT[/b] want...” will appear as “...you do NOT want...”.

3. How to Italicize

Italic - Enter [i] before the text that you want in italics, AND enter [/i] after the text that you want to italicize. Example: “...you can’t [i]believe[/i] that...” will appear as “...you can’t believe that...”.

underline - Enter [u] before the text that you want underlined, AND enter [/u] after the text that you want underlined. Example: “...you can’t[u]believe[/u] that...” will appear as “...you can’t believe that...".

5. Using Multiple Formatting Options at the Same Time

When using multiple formatting options back-to-back, you MUST “turn off” the options in the reverse order as you turned them on. Think of this as reversing the actions, starting with the most recent. See the following example.

You may use multiple formatting options together. Example: “...you [b][i]must understand[/i][/b] that...” will appear as “...you must understand that...”.

6. Creating an Email Link

There are several ways to handle Email links.
-
To display the email address as the link: Enter “mailto:” preceding the email address that you want to be active. Example: “mailto:info@noetictulsa.com” will display info@noetictulsa.com as an active email address.

To display other text as an email link: Enter "[mailto=email address]your text[/mailto]. Example: "For details, [mailto=info@noetictulsa.com]Click here.[/mailto]" will display "For details, Click here.", with the text "Click here." as a link to the email address info@noetictulsa.com.

To display a username for an Email link: Enter "sendto:" preceding the username for the email address that you want to be active. Example: "sendto:tulsaions" will display tulsaIONS as an active Email link.

To make an Email link out of some other text: Enter "[sendto=username]your text[/sendto]". Example: "For more information, [sendto=tulsaIONS]Click here.[/sendto]" will display "For more information, Click here." with the text "Click here." as a link to the email address for tulsaIONS.
NOTE: Options 3 and 4 above will protect your email address from bots and public viewing.

7. Creating Website Links

Links - There are two ways to handle links.

“...http://www.noetic.org...” will display “http://www.noetic.org” as a link

“...[url=http://www.noetic.org]Institute of Noetic Sciences[/url]" will make the text “Institute of Noetic Sciences” into a link.

8. Using Images

Images - There are two types of images that you may be using on this site: those from the website library, and those from another location. To reference images from the website library, you will use the [media] option, and to reference images from another location, you will use the [image] option.

For images from noeticTulsa.com library, use the “media” option, and the image number. (To find the image number, click on the [Go] button at the top of the page, above the noeticTulsa.com logo. Next, click on Images from the list. You will now see the images to which you have access. The image number can be found under each image, preceded by Pic #:.).

To place the image in your text, enter “[media]999[/media]” where you want the image to appear. “999” is the image number from the noeticTulsa.com library. The text will not float around the image.

To place an image on the right and have the text flow around it, enter “[mediar]999[/mediar]” where you want the image to appear. “999” is the image number from the noeticTulsa.com library.

To place an image on the left and have the text flow around it, enter “[medial]999[/medial]” where you want the image to appear. “999” is the image number from the noeticTulsa.com library.

For images that you are referencing in another location or website, use the “image” option. The formatting options are the same as for images from the website library above, except that you use “image” instead of “media”, and you use the path of the image instead of the picture number.
9. How to Force a Line Break

To force a line break (to end a sentence and skip to the next line without having a blank line in between), use "[br] at the end of your line.
